Port Townsend in Photographs

This planet is blessed with many beautiful areas, but I have never seen any more spectacular than Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula, Port Townsend in particular.

Bavaria has the mountains and meadows; quaint seaports are ubiquitous; and salt water covers 73% of the earth so there is plenty of view property.

But few places combine it all. Port Townsend is among those.

With fewer than 9,000 residents, Port Townsend is small enough that shopping in Safeway is an hour-long excursion because you run into so many friends and neighbors who would be hurt if you didn’t stop to chat.

If I seem prejudiced toward it, you’re right. It’s my home town and I’ll never again leave. For my colleagues and friends who always wondered why I gave up the big city to go home to my small town, just savor the flavor through the images below, and contact me if you’re coming up this way:
